Thailand 2022 ( Day 25 ) – Bangkok

Table of Contents

Early start for Brendan today, so the kids and Ning will head out to explore Bangkok a little by themselves this morning till Brendan finishes work.

Bounce

Brendan arrived to meet everyone at around 11, and the kids were still only halfway through there sessions, but wow they were buring some energy here. Bryce as usual showing his stong levels.

Whilst the kids finished the session Brendan took a walk from the here to Terminal 21 where we had planned for lunch, just to see what the streets were like in Bangkok post Covid world.

The one big change since he walked this last was the street vendors on Suhkumvit road are all gone.. Makes walking a lot easier, but to honest seems to have lost a bit of the character of the city. There is also a large number of closed and empty locations on this route, as sign the city still has not as yet returned in full. Everyone in masks, certainly the new norm now for the population.

Terminal 21 Asok

We all met up again here for lunch. The food court is amazing, and really cheap prices, so was super busy being that it was 12.30 now and lots of office workers, students and tourists were enjoying a cool place to have “street food” prices.

The Mall has all the usual high end brand shops also, which we did not choose to look through, but the kids were happy to find the Vesper at the Roxy shop to at least have a play on riding through the mall, in there imaginations.

Sampheng – China Town Markets

We jumped in a taxi and headed the 35mins to the markets. Was going to take about the same on the BTS and MRT, so thought we might as well go in an easier way. Bryce also had a little nap on Brendan’s shoulder on the journey.

Brendan and Elle spent a lot of time in the nail shop, over an hour according to bored Bryce. There were 100’s if not more different nail polish colours and styles. Elle had a box that only holds 24, so she was limited to just that. The number of nail art stickers, glitter and nail accessories in the shop was quite exciting to see.

We had a small patch of rain whilst in the markets, so Bryce HAD to have one of the cool raincoats, just so that he could find the drips of rain and stand under…more wet shoes..haha

Kids found lots of shops to look for everything from beads to toys, and plenty of clothes. Feels like we will need a new bag to get home, with all the purchases.

Early Night

Given all the busyness of the day and grumpy people by this stage, we all headed back to the Hotel. Kids had easy seven eleven items for dinner, and played some Ipad before bed.

The kids version of today is also available
