Thailand 2022 ( Day 21 ) – Bangsean

Table of Contents

Having had a good nigth sleep here in Bangsean and with a quieter day planned, the kids were keen for an early morning swim, so 7am and that’s the first stop we headed.

Khao Kheow Open Zoo

This was about 30mins from our hotel and the drive is quite easy and half is on the main Pattaya highway, and the rest is up into the jungle hills area where the zoo is located.

Saw lots of animales but our first actual stop was to see the penguins.

Tke kids even got to feed them, which was a great new experience.

Headed off to see all the African animals…

Our next stop was definatley the highlight. We walked down to what is just a small sign saying Lemur Island. SO glad we did… Cost us 120B (about 5aud) for Brendan and the kids to go over the island on a little raft, have to wear disposable gloves and sanistise your shoes before going over.

Saw so many other great animals through the park, but we did skip the Australian section, not sure the kids needed to see Kangaroo and sleeping Koalas.

Roadside lunch stop

Found a small roadside shop on the drive back from the zoo that appeared very busy. The old saying that stop where the locals are eating was very true, again. We had a yummy lunch with freah cooked chicken and Som Tum, Elle had Noodles and Bryce had grilled pork and sticky rice.

Bangsean Walking Street

This only opens on Friday and Saturday nights, so we decided to head here a bit earlier as we had seen lots of reveiws about parking and with Ning’s ankle still a little tender we did not want to be too far away.

Brendan dropped everyone off at one of the entry points, and found a lucky parking spot not too far away.

The makets is huge, lots of clothes, shoes and food. There is also plenty of seting areas along the oecan wall and promenade so plenty of people, like us, buying food and sitting to enjoy the sunset.

Ning wanted desert on way back to our hotel

Headed back to our hotel quite late tonight, and with tired kids again, on a day that we had planned to be a little quieter..
